After completed all pre-commissioning activities the pipeline will be introduced with hydrocarbon, that process is called commissioning. Basically, the pipeline is filled with water for hydro-testing, and after testing,
the water is removed from the pipeline. Secondly, the pipeline is cleaned and dried to low dew point to avoid the problem of water contamination of the product. Post drying, the pipeline will be purged and preserved
with nitrogen before introducing hydrocarbons. In the process of commissioning, the pressure and temperature will be maintained carefully to avoid a chilling effect.
